![]() Didn't really use the picture taking aspect, but they are probably of similar quality of most cell phones. The tracking is a gimmick, it did not work at all, actually messed up the camera with it turned on (camera would constantly zoom in and out of one spot). The frame rate drops a lot if the auto lighting features are turned on, and I didn't notice any difference in picture or color quality with them off. The camera itself is good, showing good colors and picks up sound really well. The Logitech interface for the driver is fairly annoying and somewhat poorly planned out. If I had to do it over again, I probably would have stayed with the cheaper non-Deluxe model.Ī decent overall web cam. I don't think these two features really qualify for a $30 more expensive camera versus the regular QuickCam Communicate. The avatars are very CPU intensive and don't really match your mouth and facial expressions well at all. The FunMasks are cute for about 20 minutes but get annoying to the people on the other side rather quick. I can't tell a bit of difference between RightLight 1 from my first camera and RightLight 2 they both auto adjust contrast and other video settings based on ambient lighting and do a so-so job at that. The major difference between this camera and the non-deluxe version I upgraded from is the Right Light 2 and the Fun Masks & Avatars. So the 1.3 megapixel 30FPS is overkill if you plan on using it only with Yahoo. Have only used it with Yahoo Messenger 9 which severely limits the quality of the video conference to very slow ultra jerky frames per second and very low quality despite the fact that I have 20MB/second internet service, so it appears Yahoo is limiting bandwidth usage for video conferencing to the point its just a jerky stop motion looking video. It was perfect! I am very happy with this webcam.Ĭamera works well and clips on top of my flatscreen HP monitor fine. I really don't feel as though I need to upgrade anytime soon! I had company at the house the other day & we gathered around the computer to Skype with my daughter in Spain and also with my niece in California. My initial thought was that if this webcam didn't work very well than I can upgrade. The video, audio and microphone are super clear. It rests securely on the moniter and it is very, very simple to use. ![]() I didn't think I would be able to set the webcam up myself but it was a cinch. I received it in 2 business days (no shipping charge). They "hooked me up" with Amazon and I ordered the Logitech QuickCam for 34.99. The Skype site suggested several webcams compatible to our computer. I had been shopping on Amazon but didn't know exactly which webcam to buy. I had procrastinated setting up the Skype until after she had moved. My daughter recently moved to Spain and I needed to find a webcam compatible with a six year old Sony Vaio with Microsoft XP/Vista and hi-speed internet.
